Giving Time and Space to Just Being 2015
With dancers Eeva-Maria Mutka and Stirling Steward
This work honours a long-term friendship between three movement improvisers who also share living in West Wales and who are also mothers and I chose to work with this community we have. Hovering between visual art and dance, this work was made for galleries viewing.
I explore metaphor and embodiment. Momentary stories or transient personal histories are played out and perspectives on sharing space are presented. This work makes portraits of the female and explores womanhood where our very being is articulated.
We perform the interplay between painting and dance and photography producing live performance, photos and paintings in a unique woven placement.
