Announcing Knitting Fog /Yn Cyhoeddi Knitting Fog
I am so excited to say that my project, Knitting Fog, will take place in and around my village of Brynamman, Carmarthenshire next spring.
Knitting Fog has grown out of a 2022 performance intervention in a former limestone quarry in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) which I led in collaboration with dancers Gaby Agis and Amy Voris. Bridging movement, nature and geology, Knitting Fog works with and in response to this area’s unique 3 billion-year-old rock formations, soundscape and sense of ‘deep time’. It emerges from many years of exploring this very special landscape through movement, witnessing and improvisation.
Now thanks to support from Arts Council Wales and partners Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Groundwork Collective, Mess Up The Mess, HangOut, Welfare Ystradgynlais, Hwb y Gors Arts Centre and Brynamman Cinema. Knitting Fog will range across performances, workshops, screenings and talks from March to May 2025 to which you will all be very welcome.
For this expanded iteration of Knitting Fog I will be working with performers Amy Voris and Gaby Agis, with poet Nia Davies and filmmaker Tanya Syed, geologist Alan Bowring and mentor Nikki Tomlinson.
Look out 👀 for further news to come- including dates of public workshops with partner organisations.

Rwyf mor gyffrous i ddweud y bydd fy mhrosiect, Knitting Fog, yn digwydd yn fy mhentref, Brynaman, Sir Gaerfyrddin, a’r cyffiniau y gwanwyn nesaf.
Mae Knitting Fog wedi tyfu allan o ymyriad perfformiad 2022 mewn hen chwarel galchfaen ym Bannau Brycheiniog (Bannau Brycheiniog) a arweiniais ar y cyd â’r dawnswyr Gaby Agis ac Amy Voris. Pontio symudiad, natur a daeareg, mae Knitting Fog yn gweithio gydag ac mewn ymateb i ffurfiannau creigiau unigryw 3 biliwn oed yr ardal hon, seinwedd a synnwyr o ‘amser dwfn’. Mae'n deillio o flynyddoedd lawer o archwilio'r dirwedd arbennig iawn hon trwy symud, gwylio a byrfyfyrio.
Nawr diolch i gefnogaeth gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru a phartneriaid Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog, Groundwork Collective, Mess Up The Mess, HangOut, Welfare Ystradgynlais, Canolfan Gelfyddydau Hwb y Gors a Sinema Brynaman. Bydd Gweu Niwl yn amrywio ar draws perfformiadau, gweithdai, dangosiadau a sgyrsiau o fis Mawrth i fis Mai 2025 a bydd croeso mawr i chi i gyd.
Ar gyfer yr iteriad estynedig hwn o Knitting Fog byddaf yn gweithio gyda’r perfformwyr Amy Voris a Gaby Agis, gyda’r bardd Nia Davies a’r gwneuthurwr ffilmiau Tanya Syed, y daearegwr Alan Bowring a’r mentor Nikki Tomlinson.
Edrychwch allan 👀 am newyddion pellach i ddod - gan gynnwys dyddiadau gweithdai cyhoeddus gyda sefydliadau partner.
Delwedd: Dogfennaeth o hyd gan Tanya Syed o'i rhannu yn Chwarel Herbert (2022) gan yr artistiaid dawns Gaby Agis, Amy Voris, Jessica Lerner.
